About the Role

At IRTH Group, we are shaping the future with innovation, precision, and excellence. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a qualified and detail‑oriented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic construction team. As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will work independently and liaise with contractors’ technical teams at the site technical office. You will evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Review and approve contractor’s construction program, material submittals, quality control & method statements/methodology.
  • Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings, specifications, local codes, statutory requirements and international best practice.
  • Handle technical submittals (material submittals, RFIs, pre‑qualifications) and hand‑over documents.
  • Monitor and coordinate construction activities to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Address and resolve issues that arise during the construction phase.
  • Advise Planning Engineer and Construction Manager of any slippage in progress regarding site activities.
  • Track ongoing documentation by others to meet scheduled milestones and deadlines for submittal.
  • Ensure that all material used at site complies with approved material submittals and project specification requirements.
  • Verify and certify quality and completion of works.
  • Prepare monthly materials reports to ensure that all work accomplished complies with specification requirements.
  • Report any non‑conformance through a Non‑conformance Report.
  • Review project closeout reports submitted by contractor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
  • Follow up with local authorities for timely approvals and no objection certificates.
  • Attend factory visits and suppliers’ plant inspections as required.
  • Check and ensure effective coordination between discipline‑related works and all other disciplines.
  • Manage all site issues and coordinate with office personnel to resolve issues as needed.
  • Provide technical assistance for pre‑commissioning, energization, commissioning, and start‑up as required by the project.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Membership of a professional Engineering Institution would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 15 years post‑graduate experience, ideally within an architectural, engineering or construction consultancy environment in the UAE region.
  • Experience with project coordination and execution skills.
  • Expertise in all aspects of electrical engineering within construction, including HV, LV, Telecom, low‑current systems, emergency services, security system, UPS and generator, and fire alarm system.
  • Proven experience in large‑scale development projects, at least 2 years’ experience as a Lead Engineer, managing requirements of a project independently.
  • Extensive knowledge of British and American electrical codes and standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated critical‑thinking skills and ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem‑solving environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of local statutory authorities’ regulations and submission requirements across the Middle East, mainly UAE – Dubai.
