Reporting to: Chief Communications Officer

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Salary: 25-30,000 AED per month

Company Summary: We're working with a major outsourcing and technology services provider that manages visa application processes for governments worldwide. It handles front-end services such as appointment booking, biometric collection, documentation, and customer support, while embassies make the final visa decisions. The company operates thousands of centres globally and serves more than 70 governments.

Job Overview

The General Manager - Content Writing will play a crucial role in defining the organisation's voice and external narrative. This role involves developing strategic, high-impact content including speeches, opinion articles, communication materials, and messaging frameworks. The purpose is to elevate leadership visibility, strengthen organisational credibility, and shape stakeholder perception across key geopolitical, economic, and industry contexts.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Content Development

    • Draft, edit, and refine high-impact content for the corporate website, brochures, AV scripts, speeches, opinion pieces, white papers, background notes, and media statements.
    • Create compelling narratives that reflect organisational viewpoints on geopolitical, economic, and sector-specific issues.
    • Develop speaking points, Q&A responses, and talking notes for leadership participation in media interviews, conferences, and panel discussions.
    • Write, review, and adapt content for multiple platforms, ensuring tone, structure, and clarity align with brand and leadership positioning.
    • Support crisis communication efforts through well-crafted holding statements, reactive messaging, and stakeholder updates.
  2. Media & Thought Leadership Engagement

    • Draft press releases, media advisories, and official statements that meet organisational communication standards.
    • Build detailed executive profiles, spokesperson briefs, and contextual background documents for external engagements.
    • Attend internal and external briefings to capture key insights and translate them into clear, publication‑ready content.
    • Coordinate with PR agencies, corporate communication teams, and media partners to ensure message consistency across all communication touchpoints.
  3. Research, Analysis & Insight Generation

    • Conduct thorough research to underpin content with strong data, evidence, and contextual accuracy.
    • Analyse industry reports, policy documents, and market trends to prepare informed summaries and discussion notes.
    • Simplify complex information into clear, digestible messages for speeches, reports, and leadership updates.
    • Stay updated on geopolitical and economic developments to ensure relevance and contextual depth in all written outputs.
  4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Editorial Excellence

    • Work closely with senior leadership and communication teams to understand goals and deliver content aligned with strategic priorities.
    • Manage multiple projects while maintaining sensitivity to tone, deadlines, and confidentiality.
    • Uphold editorial accuracy and ensure all content meets the highest standards of clarity, quality, and stylistic consistency.

Person Specification

Education

  • Master's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, International Relations, Economics, or a related field desired.
