Requirements:

  1. Degree qualified (BSc / MSc), professionally recognized (MRICS / FRICS), with senior professional experience in project delivery of large projects.
  2. Minimum 15 years of experience, preferably similar to this client/consultant project/role.
  3. Expertise in reviewing, understanding, and applying contracts and framework agreements.
  4. Experience in drafting contract particulars, appendices, tender documents, negotiations, analysis, and recommendations.
  5. Ability to review existing operations across all project phases, including processes and procedures both in office and on-site.
  6. Assessing strengths and weaknesses, and assisting in developing bespoke processes and procedures covering quality, progress, commercial, contractual, safety, design, and construction activities.
  7. Proven track record as a Commercial/Contracts Manager delivering large multifunctional projects.
  8. Strong negotiation skills and claims experience on major projects.
  9. Proven commercial and contractual acumen.
  10. Experience in managing contractual correspondence, providing advice, and drafting responses.
  11. Knowledge of project controls, especially change management procedures.
  12. A well-rounded profile capable of planning, analysis, and managing process and commercial considerations, with a drive for successful project delivery.
  13. Effective at building relationships within complex structures, both internally and with clients.
  14. Experience in evaluating and reporting on compliance of independent consultants and AtkinsRalis with contractual obligations.
  15. Ability to support and integrate with the PDO team and PMCs regarding contract administration and management.
  16. Willing to deputize for the PDO Commercial Director if required.

Candidate Profile:

  1. Support existing operations in a private sector organization through all project phases, focusing on Contracts Management, assessing strengths and weaknesses, and preparing detailed reports.
  2. Provide full quantity surveying services as required.
  3. Maintain and enhance AtkinsRalis reputation with clients and develop long-term relationships, identifying new opportunities.
  4. Fully integrate with the PDO Team, supporting colleagues and senior management.

Must be conversant in:

  • Procurement Management, including strategy development.
  • Contract Management and Administration, including supervision, review, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Oversight of the master budget and individual project budgets.
  • Payment Applications: Review and recommend on all payment applications.
  • Variation Assessment: Review and assess variations, providing recommendations.
  • Claims Management: Track causes, validate, assess impacts, and advise clients.
  • Final Accounts: Manage preparation, review, and settlement of accounts.
