The Senior Consultant BAU delivers end-to-end payroll outsourcing services for global clients, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing. The role serves as the primary point of contact (POC) for clients and internal teams and requires strong multi-country payroll expertise and the ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
Global Payroll & Compliance
- Process multi-country payroll in compliance with local labor laws and tax regulations.
- Manage end-to-end payroll activities including data validation, earnings, deductions, and tax calculations.
- Adhere to payroll calendars, turnaround times (TAT), and automated system-driven processes.
- Reconcile Gross-to-Net (G2N), bank files, and General Ledger (GL) prior to payroll release.
- Manage year-end payroll activities including statutory reporting, tax filings, and audits.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll taxes, social security, and statutory filings.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to implement regulatory updates and conduct periodic audits.
Client Success & Scope Management
- Deliver payroll services strictly within contractual scope and prevent scope creep.
- Conduct regular scope reviews and expedite potential misalignments.
- Partner with Account Management and Implementation teams to validate requirement changes.
- Communicate transparently with clients regarding service inclusions and contractual changes.
Client Onboarding & Transition
- Accept new clients after Hypercare completion and review all onboarding artifacts.
- Validate payroll setup accuracy and complete handover checklists.
- Perform end-to-end payroll testing and resolve discrepancies before BAU ownership.
- Collaborate with Implementation and Client Success teams to ensure smooth transitions.
Business Continuity & Documentation
- Ensure trained backup resources are available for all clients.
- Maintain SOPs, process documentation, wage type catalogs, and data dictionaries.
- Execute knowledge transfer plans and periodically test backup readiness.
- Ensure all system changes follow formal change management procedures and track change requests (CRs).
Process Automation & SLA Management
- Identify manual inefficiencies and raise tickets for automation and system enhancements.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement and optimize automated payroll workflows.
- Track and manage customer support tickets in line with SLAs.
- Prepare monthly SLA reports, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and elevate unresolved issues.
- Proactively communicate ticket status and resolutions to clients.
- Strong expertise in multi-country payroll operations and global compliance.
- Experience with statutory filings, automation-driven payroll processes, and SLA management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of global labor laws and statutory regulations.
- 7+ years of experience in global payroll processing, payroll outsourcing, or payroll consulting.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications (CPP, CIPP, IPASS, Global Payroll Certification) preferred.
