About the job

Based at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi within the Security Department, the Security Supervisor will play an essential role in maintaining the safety, security, and protection of guests, colleagues, and property. This position involves supervising security agents on duty, monitoring daily & patrol operations, responding to incidents, and ensuring all security procedures are followed effectively and professionally. The Security Supervisor also plays a key role in maintaining order, supporting emergency response efforts, and promoting a culture of safety and vigilance throughout the property in accordance with local regulations and hotel security standards. The Security Supervisor reports to the Security Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the security team, ensuring adequate coverage and adherence to duty rosters.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to all security incidents, emergencies, and alarms in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of duty posts, access points, and patrol routes to ensure performance and compliance with security standards.
  • Assist in conducting regular training, briefings, and refresher sessions for outsourced security agents to ensure readiness and awareness of emergency response procedures.
  • Support and participate in emergency response and evacuation procedures as outlined in the hotel’s Emergency Plan.
  • Counsel assigned security agents on all aspects of performance, attitude, and professionalism.
  • Support Security Managers in ensuring that all security personnel are competent, equipped and trained in performing their assigned tasks.
  • Ensure that all instructions and directives issued through the Line Security Managers are clearly and accurately delivered to all security agents.
  • Work closely with the assigned Line Security Managers to implement daily and standing instructions in alignment with the property’s Security Master Plan and the directives issued by the Department Head.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or University Degree.
  • Police or Military experience is an advantage.
  • One to three years as a Security Officer (or equivalent) with some acting lead/shift‑in‑charge exposure at luxury hospitality, malls, events, iconic buildings, or critical facilities; resort experience will be a plus.
  • Basic CCTV monitoring and incident/report writing (clear, factual logs).
  • Radio etiquette, handover briefs, and basic MS Office (Word/Excel) for reports.
  • Crowd management and de‑escalation; able to follow SOPs precisely.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Arabic, with a competent level of proficiency in English.
  • Punctual, reliable, and discreet, with professional grooming, high integrity, and a strong respect for confidentiality.
  • Willing to work rotational shifts (nights/weekends/holidays).
  • First Aid/CPR/AED, Fire Warden/Basic Firefighting, or CCTV operator knowledge.
  • Knowledge of patrols, access control, visitor/vehicle screening, key control, and lost & found.
  • Familiarity with basic fire life safety, emergency response support, and assembly/evacuation procedures.
  • Exposure to control room dispatch (CCTV, alarms, radio tasking) or event security deployments.
  • Ability to supervise and coach outsourced security agents during shifts.
  • Customer‑service mindset: calm, courteous, and solution‑oriented with guests and colleagues.
