About the Role
You will drive revenue growth by acquiring new clients and expanding business within the logistics and freight forwarding industry. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, a consultative sales approach, and the ability to understand customer logistics needs and deliver tailored solutions that enhance efficiency, service quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Client Acquisition & Lead Generation
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within logistics and freight forwarding.
- Build a strong pipeline of prospects through research, cold outreach, networking, and industry events.
- Conduct sales presentations, meetings, and product/service demonstrations to potential clients.
Account Management & Relationship Building
- Develop strong relationships with customers by understanding their supply chain needs and recommending appropriate logistics solutions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring satisfaction and long-term retention.
- Coordinate with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless service execution.
Pricing, Proposals & Negotiation
- Prepare competitive quotations and proposals in collaboration with operations and pricing teams.
- Negotiate rates, service contracts, and commercial terms while balancing profitability and customer value.
Logistics Coordination & Service Support
- Work with internal teams to ensure accurate booking, documentation, and execution of freight shipments.
- Assist clients with shipment tracking, customs requirements, and operational queries.
Market Research & Competitive Analysis
- Monitor market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Share insights with management to shape sales strategy and improve service offerings.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain accurate sales activities, pipeline status, and CRM data.
- Provide regular updates on performance, forecasts, and revenue targets.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 36 years of experience in logistics or freight forwarding sales.
- Proven track record in hunting, lead generation, and closing new business.
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, shipping documentation, and logistics operations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to use CRM tools and manage a structured sales pipeline.
- Strong problem-solving ability and customer-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
