The Resident Engineer will oversee and manage all aspects of construction activities on-site to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires extensive experience in civil engineering and construction management, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of engineering principles and practices.
This is a full-time 6 days a week on-site role located in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Manage day-to-day construction operations, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact between the construction team, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and project execution.
- Leadership: Lead and manage the Engineers, Inspectors and other site-based execution personnel ensuring they perform to requirements. Manage, supervise and guide the Contractor to perform efficiently ensuring its works are executed in accordance with the Project and local Authority requirements.
- Health, Safety & Environmental Control: Work with the assigned HSE Manager, monitor and inspect work to ensure Safety standards are met and maintained, and resolve any issues or deficiencies promptly.
- Quality Control: Work with the assigned QA/QC Manager, monitor and inspect work to ensure quality standards are met and resolve any issues or deficiencies promptly.
- Scheduling: Work with the Planning & Risk Department to develop, maintain, and update project schedules, ensuring that construction milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Budget Management: Work with the Commercial Department, monitor project expenditures and manage costs to keep the project within budget, approving invoices and change orders as needed.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed records of construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, correspondence and other.
- Problem Solving: Identify potential problems and implement solutions to mitigate risks and avoid delays.
- Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local codes, regulations, and safety standards. Conduct regular site inspections to enforce safety protocols.
- Client Relations: Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or issues and ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 20 years of experience in construction, engineering and management with a focus towards large-scale Residential projects.
- Leadership skills, proactive attitude and sound judgment.
- Strong understanding of engineering and the construction processes, methods and best practices.
- Proficiency in project and construction management methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
