Quality Inspector
This role is offered as fixed term employment for a period of 12 months.
The Opportunity
As a Quality Inspector you'll be specifically focused on a project dealing with Aircraft Seating. You will be utilizing project management skills to develop and manage project estimates, timelines and deliverables. As a quality liaison you will be interacting with all project stakeholders such as the Value Stream Managers, Project Coordinators, vendors and sub-contractors. Additionally you will be supporting the quality team on transition projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Be the Quality Inspector focal for the assigned projects.
- Inspects parts assemblies and finished products to drawings and specifications.
- Follows general inspection guidelines to conduct critical non-routine visual, dimensional, mechanical and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies and materials.
- Inspect and check aircraft components for airworthiness and correct manufacture.
- Conduct first article inspection of parts assemblies, equipment and tooling.
- Supporting the team on quality and regulatory audits.
- Inspect purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications and processing requirements, reviewing technical data and discerning requirements from a quality perspective.
- Maintain necessary inspection logs and write inspection reports.
- Coordinate with the wider quality team on the different quality projects as required.
- Submit recommendations to resolve recurring deficiencies found during inspections.
- Interpret inspection findings and determine adequacy of corrective actions.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as per business need.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Aviation would be preferred.
- Minimum experience of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
- Experience in an aircraft/component maintenance environment.
- Experience in aircraft seating/fabric work preferred.
- Sound knowledge of Part 145/CAR 145/FAA 145 Regulatory requirements.
- Internal auditor training/experience preferred.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Sound communication skills to effectively liaise with peers and personnel from different departments.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
