Stantec is currently looking for a Project Manager to join our dynamic team in AbuDhabi and support our ongoing projects in the UAE.

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading the successful planning, design, tendering, and supervision of utility projects, preferably in wastewater and rehabilitation projects in the UAE, with a primary focus on Abu Dhabi/Al Ain -based utility works. This role requires a professional with a minimum of 15 years of overall experience (including at least 5 years in the UAE) in a consultancy environment, with a strong technical foundation in utilities and rehabilitation engineering.

The role involves working on projects associated with wastewater and water engineering. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration, and construction management. Key accountabilities for limited to:

1. Manage project delivery and Execution.

• Manage all aspects of project delivery including planning, budgeting, execution, and risk management.
• Develop and monitor project programs, budgets, and execution plans to ensure timely completion and financial control.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, contract management and Stantec's internal project governance procedures.
• Lead internal and external reporting, ensuring transparency and alignment across all stakeholders.
• Management of consultancy projects and managing all stages of the design process from concept to detail design, and tender.
• Overseeing the Construction phase and management and liaising with stakeholders.

2. Technical Oversight

• Oversee the design and technical quality of utility projects and especially sewerage, water, and rehabilitation works.
• Ensure designs comply with DMT, DOE, TAQA standards and local regulatory frameworks.
• Review and approve technical deliverables, reports.
• Coordinate with design teams to identify and resolve technical issues proactively.

3. Client and Stakeholder Relations

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and external authorities.
• Understanding of client requirements and processes preferably with TAQA and other utility government stakeholders.
• Ability to build and maintain lasting positive and professional relationships with government entities, contractors and developers.
• Support business development through proposals, presentations, and bid preparation.

4. Quality, HSE & Compliance

• Uphold Stantec's HSE, quality, and ethical standards across all project stages.
• Apply Design for Safety and Construction Design Management principles.
• Mentor and guide Project Management staff and technical staff within the team.
• Foster a collaborative and performance-driven work culture.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 15-20 years of total professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in UAE consultancy practice.
• Bachelor'sdegree in Civil (Masters preferred).
• PM/APM or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Must be licensed/registered with a recognized authority.
• Proven success in utilities projects and preferred in wastewater and sewerage rehabilitation projects.
• Must have experience locally in either Abu Dhabi / Al Ain.
• Preferably has worked with TAQA Water Solution / SWS / ADSSC.
• Excellent command of English (verbal and written); Arabic is an advantage.
