Job description

We are looking for a Project Manager in UAE to join with our team,

Duration: Three months initially with a possible extension based on project requirement

Location: DIP, Dubai, UAE

Start date: Immediate

Candidate should be a freelancer currently available in UAE

An ideal candidate would have the background of engineering, knowledge or experience of working on generator enclosure and/or manufacturing of steel or similar.

Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning, execution and control activities across all phases, from mobilization through construction, commissioning and handover.

    Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans and critical path analyses; monitor progress and implement corrective actions to meet milestones.

  • Manage project budget and cost control processes, including forecasting, change control, and commercial claims management.

  • Ensure compliance with project technical specifications, QA/QC standards and HSE requirements; promote a strong safety culture on site.

  • Coordinate and lead multi-discipline interfaces (civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation commissioning) and manage subcontractor performance to ensure quality, schedule and safety targets are achieved.

  • Prepare and present regular progress reports, contractual notices, risk registers and decision packs to client and senior management.

  • Identify project risks and opportunities; implement mitigation plans and lessons‑learnt processes.

  • Drive procurement and material coordination with commercial and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of equipment and spares.

  • Lead commissioning and start‑up planning, coordinating pre‑commissioning, functional testing and hand‑over activities with relevant stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, meeting minutes, site diaries and close‑out records for final hand‑over.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline.

  • Minimum 8–15 years’ experience managing industrial projects (oil & gas, petrochemical, power, renewable energy, mining or infrastructure), including significant on‑site delivery experience.

  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and to budget, with strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.

  • Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project), cost control and risk management methodologies.

  • Familiarity with international standards and client specifications relevant to industrial construction projects.

  • Demonstrable leadership and people management skills, with experience coordinating multi‑discipline teams and subcontractors.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; fluent written and spoken English.

  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with experience managing variations, claims and subcontractor agreements.

  • Proficient in project documentation, reporting and change control processes.

  • High attention to detail, quality and safety, with ability to operate in an industrial construction environment (work at heights, lifting operations, confined spaces where required).

  • Willingness to be predominantly field‑based with substantial on‑site presence (50–80% of working time) as project demands dictate.
