Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the execution of underground transmission power line projects, ensuring full compliance with contractual requirements. This includes managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk while driving margin improvement and consistently exceeding customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, budgets and resource allocation; responsible for the day-to-day execution of the project, supervising all activities and stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary focal point of contact for all stakeholders and internal teams; ensuring clear communications and resolving any conflicts that arise.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies, ensure all tasks are performed to the highest quality standards and incompliance with all relevant and safety protocols.
- Monitor project cost, track expenditures and manage the project budget to ensure financial targets are met.
- Lead and mentor the project team of engineers and other staff to enhance collaboration and ensure compliance and delivery.
- Ensure all activities and deliverables strictly adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in the contract including technical specifications, quality standards and legal obligations to avoid penalties and disputes.
- Drive the project forward to meet all established milestones and due dates through proactive monitoring of progress, efficient resource allocation and timely resolution of any delays or challenges
- Manage costs, optimize resource use and identify opportunities for efficiency gains throughout the project lifecycle to enhance profitability and deliver the project within agreed/contractual budgets
- Act as the primary focal point for the client, proactively communicating progress, addressing concerns to ensure the delivery are exceeding expectations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7-10 years of experience in underground transmission powerline projects
- Certified by TAQA as a project manager
- PMP certification preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Projects, and Primavera
- Strong understanding of project management principles, contract compliance, and risk mitigation
- Leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams in a high-pressure environment
