Role Description:
Procurement Research Manager will oversee and manage local and international purchasing activities, vendor negotiations, and supply chain coordination. The role requires proven experience in sourcing high-quality materials and services at competitive prices while ensuring timely delivery and meeting project requirements. The successful candidate will combine strong research capabilities with procurement expertise to deliver sustainable cost savings, build reliable supplier networks, and support strategic sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead research and evaluation of Global Sourcing Opportunities to improve procurement efficiency, reduce costs, and increase supplier competitiveness.
- Identify, establish, and nurture long-term relationships with international suppliers, ensuring consistent quality and reliability.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of overseas procurement—from sourcing and supplier qualification to shipment and final delivery.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across engineering, operations, and finance to align procurement research with strategic and operational goals.
- Ensure full compliance with international trade laws, import/export regulations, and internal procurement policies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement research methodologies and optimize cost-efficiency.
- Deliver actionable market insights and supplier benchmarking to support negotiations and achieve 20–30% cost savings in key procurement categories.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive global supplier database, categorized by material type, production capacity, geographic presence, and performance KPIs.
- Conduct ongoing market intelligence and supplier analysis to identify emerging sourcing opportunities and mitigate supply risks.
- Monitor global industry trends, pricing dynamics, and supply chain shifts; represent the company at relevant international trade shows and exhibitions.
- Design and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for international procurement research and vendor onboarding.
- Support the negotiation and execution of framework agreements, ensuring timelines, terms, and commercial conditions are met.
- Build and maintain a robust international vendor portfolio aligned with strategic sourcing priorities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field. A Master’s or certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in international procurement research, sourcing, or supplier development, preferably in construction, civil, or MEP categories.
- Strong understanding of global supply markets, vendor due diligence, and international procurement practices.
- Proven track record of driving cost savings and supplier performance improvements through strategic research and sourcing.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).
- Willingness to travel internationally for vendor assessments, trade events, and sourcing trips.
