Job summary

An international consulting firm in Dubai is looking for a Procurement Consultant to advise organizations on procurement strategies aimed at cost savings and efficiency. Responsibilities include analyzing procurement processes, developing strategies, and managing supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in procurement, particularly within the automotive sector, and must possess strong negotiation and communication skills. This role is full-time and does not support remote work.

Job description

Responsible for advising organizations on their procurement strategies to achieve cost savings, efficiency improvements, and enhanced supplier relationships. This role involves analyzing current procurement processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing best practices. The consultant works closely with clients to develop and execute procurement plans that align with their business goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Compliance to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirement
  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive procurement strategies that align with the clients business objectives. Provide insights and recommendations to improve procurement processes and policies.
  • Suppliers Portfolio: maintains updated a database of at least 3 suppliers for each product family the company decided to pursue to have sources readily available in line with the level of quality required (OEM or traded products)
  • Creates supply framework contracts with suppliers to define the terms and eventually exclusivity case by case.
  • Track suppliers launches and projects evolution: addressing any matter to grant flawless launch.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze existing procurement processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Implement best practices to streamline operations, reduce costs and improve supplier performance.
  • Supplier Management: Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality cost reliability and compliance with standards. Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to ensure favorable terms for clients.
  • Cost Reduction: Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation and competitive bidding. Implement strategies to achieve measurable cost reductions while maintaining quality and service levels.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate procurement risks including supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes and supplier performance issues. Develop contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure that procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations and internal policies. Develop and implement procurement governance frameworks to ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to track procurement performance, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends. Prepare and present reports to clients and senior management.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to client teams on procurement best practices, tools and technologies. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the procurement function.
  • Technology Integration: Advise clients on the implementation and optimization of procurement technologies such as e‑procurement systems and supplier management software. Ensure technology solutions are effectively integrated into the clients procurement processes.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics or a related field.

  • Experience in handling global logistics especially from China, Taiwan, India and other East Asian Countries.
  • Previous working experience as supply chain or logistics preferably in automotive sector.
