Job Title

Process Engineer / Process Engineer II

Location

Reporting To

Lead Process Engineer / Engineering Manager

Job Purpose

The Process Engineer / Process Engineer II is responsible for process design, optimization, and technical support for water, wastewater, industrial effluent, and environmental treatment projects across the UAE and Middle East. The role supports tendering, detailed engineering, commissioning, and operational performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Process Design & Engineering

• Develop conceptual, basic, and detailed process designs for water, wastewater, and industrial treatment systems.
• Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&Ids, mass and energy balances, and design calculations.
• Perform process simulations and hydraulic calculations using relevant engineering tools.
• Size and specify process equipment including filters, membranes, reactors, clarifiers, pumps, and dosing systems.

Proposal & Tender Support

• Support technical proposals, BOQs, cost estimates, and technical clarifications during tendering.
• Coordinate with sales, proposals, and commercial teams to ensure technically compliant solutions.
• Evaluate vendor offers and prepare technical bid evaluations.

Project Execution & Site Support

• Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, plant start-up, performance testing, and handover activities.
• Support troubleshooting, process optimization, and performance improvement at operating plants.

Operations & Optimization (if site-based)

• Monitor plant KPIs, analyze process data, and recommend improvements.
• Develop and update operating procedures, process manuals, and performance reports.
• Work closely with O&M teams to resolve process upsets and ensure compliance.

Compliance & HSE

• Ensure designs comply with local authority requirements such as ADM, DEWA, ADDC, EPC, and other relevant standards.
• Adhere to company HSE, quality, and sustainability policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Process Engineer: 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Process Engineer II: 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in water, wastewater, industrial effluent, desalination, or waste treatment projects in the GCC is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Experience with process modeling and hydraulic calculations.
• Familiarity with international standards such as ISO, ASTM, AWWA, and API as applicable.
• Proficiency in engineering software, process calculation tools, Excel, and AutoCAD; BIM experience is an advantage.

• Willingness to travel to project sites within the UAE and GCC.

Preferred (UAE Advantage)

• Experience supporting PPP, BOO, or BOT projects is an advantage.
