Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company

About the Role

We’re looking for a Principal Analyst to join our Olefins practice within Chemical Market Analytics (CMA), part of OPIS, a Dow Jones company. Based in Dubai, you’ll play a key role in expanding our insights and market coverage across the Middle East and Africa. You’ll report to the Global Olefins Lead and focus on research, client engagement, and delivering market intelligence related to key olefins and derivative products.

About the Team

Chemical Market Analytics (CMA) delivers decision-critical intelligence to the global chemicals industry and financial community. Our experts provide in-depth market analysis, forecasts, benchmark pricing, asset databases, and strategic advisory services. We cover over 200 essential building-block chemicals and host global events that help the industry manage risk and unlock value across the supply chain.

You Will
  • Develop market insights for olefins and derivatives in the Middle East and Africa — including ethylene, propylene, butadiene, and downstream polymers like polyethylene and polypropylene.

  • Build relationships with key market participants — producers, consumers, and traders — to collect and analyze data on supply, demand, trade, pricing, and cost.

  • Translate insights into impactful reports, models, and client deliverables that support strategic decisions.

  • Represent CMA externally through presentations, client meetings, and industry events.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support proprietary consulting projects and client discussions.

You Have
  • 7+ years of experience in the chemical industry, with direct exposure to olefins or derivatives markets.

  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, supply chains, and commercial operations in petrochemicals.

  • Experience in market research, analysis, or consulting with exposure to clients and executive-level stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain industry relationships across a diverse regional landscape.

  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with economic modeling or forecasting tools.

  • An undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related discipline is preferred.

  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a strong plus.
