About the job PLANNING ENGINEER - INFRASTRUCTURE

Role Summary

The Planning Engineer is responsible for preparing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules and progress across multiple wastewater infrastructure projects. The role ensures timely execution of works, alignment with contractual requirements, and effective coordination between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams. The position provides detailed planning insight to support management decision‑making and ensure safe, compliant, and on‑time project delivery.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and update Primavera P6 schedules for various projects.
  • Prepare baseline programmes, resource histograms, manpower plans, cost‑loaded schedules, and work sequencing.
  • Identify critical path, near‑critical activities, float analysis, and schedule recovery requirements.

2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track progress through site inspections, stakeholder meetings, and coordination with discipline engineers.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, including S‑curves, earned value analysis, dashboards, and variance reports.
  • Assess delays, analyze impacts, and propose mitigation strategies.

3. Material submittals and other documents

  • Liaise with supplier for the required documentation to be approved by the Consultants.
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and process teams for method statements, risk assessments.
  • Interface with subcontractors, suppliers (pumps, MCC panels, blowers, mechanical packages, etc.).
  • Facilitate workshops for planning, risk management, and progress alignment.

4. Procurement & Resource Planning

  • Monitor procurement schedules for critical wastewater equipment: pumps, screens, blowers, MCC/PLC panels, chemical dosing systems, GRP tanks, etc.
  • Prepare forecasted manpower, equipment utilization, and resource leveling for multi‑project environments.

5. Risk & Compliance

  • Identify schedule risks related to weather, utility shutdowns, regulatory approvals, and equipment lead times.
  • Ensure schedules comply with client/consultant requirements & authority regulations (Municipality, SEWA/FEWA/DEWA, Civil Defense, EPA).

6. Documentation & Quality

  • Maintain planning logs, schedule revisions, method statements, and sequencing drawings.
  • Ensure all planning deliverables meet internal QA/QC standards.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–10+ years experience in wastewater / water projects.
  • Strong command of Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, pumping station operations, pipelines, and utility coordination.
  • Experience with multi‑project planning, EOT preparation, and delay analysis.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
