Job description

The Pet Shop Grooming & Spa is looking for a skilled professional groomer, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the industry, to deliver excellent standards of customer service and animal welfare to the grooming salons.

• Highly skilled in all aspects of dog & cat grooming small pet and bird is a bonus.
• Prompt execution & delivery of all services.
• Provide hygienic analysis and consultation prior to grooming.
• Guaranteed pet safety & comfort.
• Ensure the grooming salon meets high health & sanitation standards and is well maintained.
• Strong customer service and sales/retail skills.
• Following all policies, procedures & rules and provide support to Supervisor/Divisional Manager.
• Motivate, push, and train to achieve company and individual sales targets/KPIs.

Groomer Duties/Responsibilities

Provide the following services for dog/cat clients:

• Style fur.
• Shave fur.
• Trim/clip/file Nails.
• Bathing & medicated shampooing.
• Blow drying & Brushing.
• Anal expressing.
• De-furminating, de-shedding & de-matting techniques.
• Ear & eye cleaning/tear removal.
• Teeth Brushing.

Have knowledge on the following:

• Different coat types and their individual needs.
• Various styles for specific breeds.
• Various shampooing for specific skin requirements.
• On-trend styles that customers might request.
• Handling matting and/or tangling.
• Identification of fleas/ticks and treatments.
• Identification of skin ailments and treatments.
• Identification of wounds and treatments.
• Correct customer/pet handling for any issues.
• First Aid Training
• Aggression & fear-related behaviors and how to handle them.

Requirements

• Grooming Certification or equivalent training experience
• Minimum 3 years of Grooming experience
• High School certificate or higher
• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
• Proficiency in English (other regional languages is an advantage but not necessary)
