If so, Ultra Fast Grocery is looking for a highly experienced operations manager for the role of Last Mile Leaders to lead the last mile operations for Amazon Now (15 mins delivery) network.

The successful candidate will be responsible for last mile operations through a multi‑channel operation including delivery service partners and 3p carriers. They will be a natural self‑starter, comfortable leading a large, complex last mile network. They will have a true hands‑on approach, understand last mile technology, have strong project management skills, internal/external stakeholder management and be an effective communicator. The leader will lead Ops org for multiple sites/dark stores in a country with a team of Area Managers.

In order to be successful in this position, you need to be comfortable collaborating and driving initiatives with various functional teams, ranging from finance, DEX, business, HR, operations, to tech/product, projects and procurement, with individuals at all levels of the organization. Keeping an open mind, a drive‑and‑ambition and ability to deal with ambiguity will help you remain innovative in our culture.

Key Job Responsibilities

As a key link between local operations and country business teams, you will help drive innovation, test new ideas and ensure that best practices are being followed safely.

  • Six key areas that you’ll always focus on include Safety, People, Quality, Customer Experience/Speed, Productivity, Costs and Environment.
  • Supporting project execution working across multiple functions in the org.
  • Should be able to amicably resolve issues during passionate discussions between various functions.
  • Should be able to hold respective functions accountable for their deliverables.
  • Partner closely with RoW countries to implement/share best practice.
  • Maintaining Health and Safety standards within your remit area, while promoting an inspiring Health and Safety culture on‑site.
  • Be accountable for operational leadership by measuring performance, offering feedback, and providing development support.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to optimize operations, improve productivity and reduce costs to meet and exceed business objectives; work on strategic projects that have total building and network‑wide impact.
  • Strategic planning for the next three, six and twelve months, with a particular focus on peak‑season planning.
  • Write and articulate leadership updates, MBRs and QBRs.
  • Establish objectives and metrics for safety, quality, cost, productivity and customer experience.
  • Provide your team with the tools needed for success while driving improvements in productivity and efficiency through data‑driven decisions and analytical problem‑solving.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of employee and performance management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights and/or holidays.
  • 3+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation logistics.
