Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced Offshore Electrical Designer to support FEED and Detailed Engineering for offshore oil & gas projects in the UAE. Key responsibilities include preparing electrical design deliverables, ensuring compliance with international standards, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates should have at least 10 years of offshore electrical design experience, preferably with experience on Saudi Aramco projects. Proficiency in tools like AutoCAD and ETAP is required.

Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Offshore Electrical Designer to support FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Detailed Design for offshore oil & gas projects in the UAE. The role focuses on offshore drilling rigs and rig refurbishment projects. Extensive offshore experience is mandatory, with proven drilling rig exposure. Experience working on Saudi Aramco offshore projects is highly preferred and will be a key advantage.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical design deliverables including SLDs, load lists, power distribution diagrams, cable schedules, cable routing, lighting, grounding, and equipment layouts
• Support FEED and Detailed Engineering activities in compliance with project specifications and offshore standards
• Prepare and review electrical specifications, data sheets, and requisitions for LV/MV equipment, transformers, UPS, batteries, and lighting
• Perform electrical calculations including load, short circuit, voltage drop, cable sizing, lighting, and earthing
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, API, NEC, and offshore/marine standards
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and clash-free designs
• Support hazardous area compliance, vendor reviews, technical evaluations, and FATs
• Participate in design reviews, HAZID/HAZOPs, and client meetings
• Provide support during offshore construction, commissioning, refurbishment, and as-built documentation

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years offshore electrical design experience, including offshore drilling rigs and refurbishment
• Saudi Aramco offshore project experience (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Detailed Design execution
• Experience with offshore electrical systems and hazardous area requirements
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Smart Plant Electrical, ETAP, EPLAN, or equivalent
• Experience in vendor coordination and multidisciplinary projects
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in an offshore engineering environment
