About the role

Jan De Nul is a pioneer in building at sea. We install renewable energy infrastructure, make marine transport possible, protect our coastlines and build the most advanced harbours. To keep our vessels operational as much as possible, we need technically minded engineers like you.

What you'll do

We are seeking a technically skilled Mechanical Engineer to support our Asset Management Team. This office-based role focuses on maintaining and optimizing mechanical asset data for offshore equipment used in cable laying, heavy lifting, stone dumping, windmill foundation installation, and trenching operations as well as dredging installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and analyze mechanical asset records for offshore + dredging systems (e.g. winches, cranes, cable carousels, trenchers, fall pipe equipment, suction tube and dredge pipe arrangements)
  • Understand the working principles of this equipment and identify key mechanical components and assemblies
  • Manage mechanical article master data in the maintenance system (AmosW)
  • Review technical documentation and ensure compliance with JDN mininum spare parts recommendation
  • Coordinate with vessel crews, TD, and suppliers to validate asset data
  • Work confidently with MS Office tools, especially Excel
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience with offshore or dredging equipment
  • Technical understanding of cable laying, lifting, trenching, dredging and foundation installation systems
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and identify the key parts
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficient in MS Excel and asset management systems (e.g. AmosW, Maximo, SAP PM)
