Job Title: Mechanical & Structural Lead Engineer
Reports to: Director Operations
Business Unit: WCS (World Crane Services) Operations
Job Purpose
- The role is responsible for overseeing and managing the estimation and costing and installation maintenance and servicing of mechanical & structural systems works undertaken by the WCS project delivery engineers and technicians.
- This role ensures that all mechanical and structural services such as crane mechanical hydraulic and fire protection systems are refurbished and installed and commissioned according to industry standards and project specifications.
- The role will lead the WCS site team also coordinate with contractors and ensure projects are completed on time within budget and to the satisfaction of clients.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for budget sales and segment growth and oversee project management of all WCS projects.
- Management of Site Team
- Plan manage and oversee the site mechanical/structural and associated works undertaken by WCS
- Ensure works are completed on time and within budgets
- Plan and Schedule all works in close collaboration with WCSPMO
- Provide technical expertise and guidance and training to the WCS team ensuring specifications and quality standardsare adhered to. Undertake site visits as required to keep the team engaged and stake holder expectation managed.
- Coordinate the procurement of materials equipment and services required with WCS Procurement team
- Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective solutions
- Evaluate current processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends technologies and best practices.
- Implement innovative solutions to improve project delivery and service quality
- Produce weekly project status reports with variance tracking
- Review Relevant Reports produced by the team relating to your area of work
- Multi-Tasking in a fast paced environment
- Sales Tenders / Bids Preparation & Budgets
- Prepare offers to clients for project related works
- Prepare Tender bid and quotations for submissions for project work WCS working closely with affiliated SuppliersContractors & the WCS team
- Prepare budgets and estimates for future work Safety Adherence
- Ensure personal contribution towards safety standards and implementation of safety policies across the WCS team globally acting as both an implementer where necessary and as a guide for others within the team.
- Ensure WCS safety standards are administered on siteWCS Ambassador
- Act as an ambassador of WCS at all times when engaging with clients suppliers and contractors ensuring anddemonstrating positive behaviour values and culture of WCS is promoted in all aspects of your work in an ethical manner.
- Confidence in communication at all levels within an organization and well developed presentation skills.
Qualifications
- Project & Technical Management of projects
- achieve the KPIs set for this function Achieve Budget and Revenue Goals / Targets set
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar Strong background in port cranes and associated systems leading large teams on site.
- Project management skills At least 10 years experience in the port cranes industry.
- Excellent Written and Verbal English Language skills.
