Job summary

A leading construction firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Material Engineer to oversee material approvals and testing for road infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will ensure all materials comply with project specifications and relevant standards. Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 2-3 years of experience in similar roles, preferably within the UAE/GCC. Strong knowledge of construction materials and effective communication skills are essential. The position is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in road/infrastructure projects.
  • UAE/GCC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review, prepare, and submit material submittals for approval.
  • Conduct and supervise material testing (soil, asphalt, concrete, aggregates, etc.).

We are seeking an experienced Material Engineer to join our road infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for material approvals, testing, compliance, and coordination with site, consultants, and laboratories to ensure quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, prepare, and submit material submittals for approval
  • Conduct and supervise material testing (soil, asphalt, concrete, aggregates, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and relevant standards (ASTM, AASHTO, local authority)
  • Coordinate with laboratories, site teams, and QA/QC departments
  • Review test results and issue material approvals or rejections
  • Manage material-related NCRs and corrective actions
  • Liaise with consultants and clients for material approvals
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2-3 Years experience in road/infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and testing procedures
  • UAE/GCC experience preferred
  • Good communication and documentation skills
