Manager - Health and Safety – Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, United Arab Emirates

Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Manager to join our team for Jumeirah Zabeel Saray.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate and oversee the implementation of Health, Safety and Environment within the respective SBU/SSU
• Conduct Risk Assessment periodically and ensure identified risks are managed and controlled
• Chair the monthly HSE committee meeting and raise and deliberate with committee on any HSE issues
• Monitor trends and recommend pro-active action plans to remedy potential problems
• Facilitate, investigate and analyze incidents/accidents and make sure lessons learned are shared and communicated to the concern parties, verify the continuing implementation and effectiveness of the operations with regards to HSE

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years experience in HSE field, with 2 years in managerial role, ideally within the hospitality sector and have a good knowledge of local and international legislation, standards and best practices. The candidate should also have a good understanding with regards food hygiene.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to interact with different groups of diverse needs and requirements in a motivational manner.
• Good team player with ability to drive results and to motivate / manage the performance of others.
• Personality that conveys poise and credibility with high levels of convincing and influencing skills to gain SBU/SSU Senior Management’s trust and respect, shows strong initiative and able to work autonomously with regular communication to Group HSE and other HSE Managers within the region
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written
