The IHG Hotels at Dubai Festival City consists of four hotels. These include the luxury and lifestyle brand InterContinental, the lavish long‑stay InterContinental Residence Suites, the premium Crowne Plaza, and the essentials Holiday Inn & Suites. In addition to over 1,600 rooms, the cluster boasts a selection of 16 restaurants and bars, an impressive 3,800‑square‑metre Event Centre across two levels, the 5,000‑square‑metre Festival Arena by InterContinental, the luxurious Spa InterContinental, and state‑of‑the‑art gym and swimming pool facilities. A little taste of your day‑to‑day:
  • Attend daily briefings with the Recreation Supervisor/ Spa & Recreation Manager, and employees.
  • Fully understand and enforce recreation rules and regulations.
  • Update and develop SOPs for all work areas, and ensure all employees are fully trained to perform their duties according to the standards.
  • Be familiar with all facilities and services provided.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff schedules, training, and certifications.
  • Implement a daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance checklist for all relevant employees and ensure it is followed.
  • Ensure all safety and cleaning standards are maintained throughout daily operations.
  • Oversee and manage the lifeguard team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure all lifeguards adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for any lifeguard‑related issues or concerns.
  • Monitor pool areas and respond promptly to any emergencies or safety concerns.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all equipment is in good order.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to pool safety and operation.
  • Organize and conduct regular training sessions and drills to ensure lifeguards are prepared for emergencies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to lifeguards to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure all guests receive a high level of service and address any concerns or complaints promptly.
  • Planning Lifeguard Training calendar with Supervisor and Recreation Manager.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments of facilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of recreation inventory and training.
  • Work effectively with colleagues, supervisor and recreation manager to achieve department target.
  • To report on all the maintenance and follow‑up to concerned department and report to supervisor & recreation manager.
  • Ensure team members are familiar with all areas of the recreation operation, including product knowledge and retail sales.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.
What we need from you:
  • Good level of spoken/written English.
  • Flexibility in shifts & tasks.
  • Organizational, leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Previous experience as a lifeguard, with at least 1‑2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of pool safety regulations and first aid procedures.
