Overview

Librarian for English-Speaking Library in Musaffah, UAE. We are currently hiring a qualified Librarian for our English-speaking library located in the bustling city of Musaffah, UAE. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the library and providing high-quality services to our diverse community of patrons.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere in the library
• Manage circulation and cataloging systems, including checking materials in and out, shelving books, and updating records
• Develop and implement engaging programs and events to promote literacy and education
• Provide reference services to patrons by assisting with research inquiries and locating materials
• Collaborate with teachers and educators to support their curriculum needs
• Maintain an organized collection by selecting, ordering, and weeding materials as needed
• Train other staff members on library procedures and best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s degree in Library Science or related field
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
• Knowledge of cataloging systems such as MARC or Dewey Decimal Classification
• Experience planning programs or events preferred
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
