Librarian vacancy in Khalifah A City UAE for unskilled workers

Position: Librarian

Location: Khalifah A City

Salary: 1700 (We are willing to consider a foreigner)

Responsibilities
  • Organize and maintain library collections, databases, archives, and other materials.
  • Process and catalogue books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, electronic media, and other library materials according to established procedures.
  • Assist patrons in locating information resources; answer questions related to the use of library materials.
  • Develop and implement policies related to the library's collection and services.
  • Develop and conduct library programs such as book clubs, story hours, information literacy classes, or other educational activities for patrons.
  • Manage library budget; order or approve purchases of books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, electronic media or other library materials in accordance with budgetary restrictions.
  • Provide reference services such as helping patrons find information using online databases or printed sources; may provide basic instruction in the use of reference resources and computer software applicable to the operation of the library.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of modern library principles, methods and procedures for organizing resources both physically and electronically.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail; able to work independently as well as part of a team environment; capable of multitasking efficiently while maintaining quality assurance standards throughout processes performed in the department/library/facility/etc.
  • Proficiency in computer software applicable to the operations of a modern library such as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint), online databases (iLibris), etc.
