About the Role

Our client is a high-growth international technology and digital education company operating across the UAE, Europe, United States, Asia and Latin America.

As the company expands its operations globally they are seeking a skilled Legal & Compliance Counsel to support all legal, commercial, regulatory and governance activities. This is a strategic hands‑on legal role in a fast‑paced cross‑border environment.

The role covers group‑level oversight of legal and compliance matters across UAE Free Zone and Mainland structures, EU/UK US APAC (Singapore, Hong Kong) and LATAM jurisdictions particularly in the context of digital platforms, data protection and commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Contractual Advisory

• Draft review and negotiate a wide range of contracts including SaaS vendor marketing partnership licensing and platform documentation.
• Maintain internal contract templates trackers and approval workflows.

Corporate & Regulatory Compliance

• Oversee compliance for UAE Free Zone and Mainland entities; align activities with license scopes.
• Monitor legal risk exposure across international markets (EU, US, Asia, LATAM).
• Ensure marketing platform content and customer terms comply with applicable laws.

Data Protection & Privacy

• Implement and monitor compliance with UAE PDPL, EU GDPR, US privacy regulations and other frameworks.
• Draft and maintain DPAs, privacy notices, DPIAs and data‑mapping documentation.
• Partner with internal security/tech teams to ensure privacy‑by‑design practices.

Risk Management & Internal Controls

• Identify legal risks and support mitigation plans.
• Develop policies on acceptable use, marketing sanctions, screening and vendor compliance.
• Conduct internal readiness reviews for regulatory audits and PSP/partner onboarding.

Corporate Governance & Entity Management

• Support cross‑border entity management registrations, filings and board resolutions.
• Assist with expansion planning and new‑market legal assessments.

Dispute Management & External Counsel Liaison

• Coordinate pre‑litigation matters, legal notices and customer escalations.
• Manage relationships with external legal advisors across key jurisdictions.

Intellectual Property & Brand Protection

• Support IP registration, licensing and enforcement strategies.
• Manage digital terms, IP usage policies and content rights.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent international legal qualification.
• 3-6 years of post‑qualification experience in corporate, commercial, regulatory or technology law.
• Strong working knowledge of UAE commercial law, PDPL and Free Zone regulations.
• Familiarity with international compliance frameworks: GDPR, US state privacy laws, APAC norms (HK/SG).
• Experience in technology, SaaS, fintech or online platforms is highly desirable.
• Excellent legal drafting, issue spotting and stakeholder advisory skills.
• High professional integrity and ability to work autonomously in a multi‑jurisdictional setting.
