Job summary

A multinational automation firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly experienced engineering leader for their Safety Instrumented Systems team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering and over 14 years of experience in instrumentation and control systems. Responsibilities include leading design and testing phases, coordinating with customer engineers, and ensuring compliance with project specifications. Qualifications

  • Minimum 14 years of experience in Instrumentation and Control and Safety Systems.
  • Safety Training B Certificates required.
  • TUV Functional Safety Engineer Certification preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Safety System Engineering Team in a project.
  • Review Project technical requirements Specifications and Standards.
  • Preparation and review of work procedures and hardware/product specifications.
  • Report to the Project Manager on daily activities.
  • Perform and review detailed engineering design assembly and testing.

Skills

Knowledge of IT basics
Project Report writing skills
Project Design Engineering Packages and related Software

Education

Job Purpose

To lead the detailed engineering design assembly and testing team of various Safety Instrumented Systems as per the project specification requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Lead the Safety System Engineering Team in a project.
  • Reviewing the Project technical requirements Specifications and Standards.
  • Preparation and review of work procedures and hardware/ product specifications.
  • Reporting to the Project Manager on day to day activities.
  • Performing and reviewing the detailed engineering design assembly and testing of the system as per the Project specification requirements.
  • Preparation and review of Bill of Material for various Safety Systems.
  • Coordination with Customer Engineers for technical issues.
  • Preparation and review of Purchase Order for various Projects Materials.
  • Assisting the Project Engineer and Senior Project Engineer as and when required for technical issues.
  • Preparation of Safety Validation Plan for Safety Projects.
  • Coordination with Document Controller for Control of Project documentation and QC Engineer for Inspection and Testing related activities.
  • Arranging Internal Meeting/ Project walk through for achieving Project milestones.
  • Project Progress Monitoring and control.
  • Participating site acceptance test commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Adhering to the Project Schedule & Project Quality Plan.
  • Preparation of scope of work deviations and tracking.
Qualification and Experience
  • A Degree in Engineering Field Preferably in Instrumentation or Electronics or Electrical.
  • Minimum 14 years experience in the field of Instrumentation and Control and Safety Systems.
  • Safety Training B Certificates.
  • TUV Functional Safety Engineer Certification (Preferable)
Required Competencies / Skills
  • Knowledge of IT basics and Microsoft Applications.
  • Project Report writing skills.
  • Project Design Engineering Packages and related Software.
