Module Name : International Hotel Management
Job Purpose
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced lecturer to join our Tourism faculty to deliver high-quality teaching in the International Hotel Management module. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes, bring industry insights into academic practice, and support students in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary for global hospitality careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and workshops in International Hotel Management
- Develop and update teaching materials aligned with current industry trends and academic standards
- Assess student performance through assignments, projects, presentations, and examinations
- Provide academic support, guidance, and feedback to students
- Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of the module
- Engage in scholarly activities, research, or consultancy relevant to tourism and hospitality
- Collaborate with industry partners and colleagues to enhance the student learning experience
- Participate in departmental meetings, programme review processes, and academic committees
- Promote international perspectives in hospitality education, including sustainability, digitalization, and cross-cultural management
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree or higher in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field (PhD preferred)
- Teaching experience in higher education, particularly in hotel or hospitality management
- Practical experience or strong knowledge of the international hotel industry
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging, student-centered teaching
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Fellowship or willingness to obtain a teaching qualification (e.g. PGCertHE, FHEA)
- Experience with virtual learning environments (e.g. Moodle, Blackboard)
- Record of research or publications in hospitality or tourism management
- Industry certifications (e.g. in hotel operations, revenue management, or sustainability)
