Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and service-oriented Waiters/Waitresses to join our restaurant specializing in authentic Japanese and Chinese cuisine including Sushi, Teppanyaki, Dim Sum and Wok-style dishes. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional dining experiences by providing attentive, accurate, and culturally informed service to our guests.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and present menus in a professional manner.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen using POS systems.
• Explain menu items, ingredients, cooking styles and specialty dishes such as sushi rolls, sashimi, teppanyaki selections, dim sum varieties and wok preparations.
• Recommend menu pairings, sauces, condiments and beverages based on guest preferences.
• Serve food and beverages promptly while ensuring quality presentation.
• Follow authentic Japanese and Chinese dining etiquette and service standards.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness of tables, service stations and dining areas.
• Coordinate effectively with kitchen, teppanyaki chefs, sushi chefs and bar staff.
• Handle bills, payments and basic cash/card transactions accurately.
• Adhere to hygiene, food safety and restaurant service standards at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Waiter/Waitress, preferably in Asian fine-dining or specialty cuisine restaurants.
• Knowledge of Japanese and Chinese cuisine (Sushi, Teppanyaki, Dim Sum, Wok dishes) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Presentable appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of POS systems and order management.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Mandarin, Cantonese or Japanese is an advantage.
