Health And Safety Officer

Location: Ras alKhaimah, United Arab Emirates

Job Description

1. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
2. Identify unsafe conditions, practices, and hazards.
3. Assist the HSE Engineer in conducting risk assessments and hazard identification, ensuring all high-risk activities are adequately controlled.
4. Report accidents, incidents, and near misses.
5. Assist in investigating causes, preparing reports, and suggesting corrective actions.
6. Ensure all employees and contractors comply with safety regulations and use necessary PPE.
7. Enforce safety standards consistently.
8. Conduct safety inductions for new employees and contractors.
9. Provide ongoing safety training on site risks, tool handling, equipment usage, and emergency procedures.
10. Participate in emergency drills and ensure procedures are followed.
11. Maintain safety equipment such as first aid kits and fire extinguishers.
12. Ensure machinery and tools are safe to use and report any faults.
13. Collaborate with the HSE Engineer, project managers, and site supervisors to integrate safety measures into daily routines.
14. Ensure access to and proper condition of PPE for all personnel.
15. Regularly check safety inventory and request replenishments.
16. Maintain records of inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
17. Submit reports for analysis.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree or 3-year Diploma in any discipline.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety certification.
• 3-6 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of UAE safety regulations and international standards (OSHA, ISO).
• Strong understanding of risk management and hazard control.
