Job Description

Job Purpose:

The primary focus of this role is to ensure compliance with SCA regulations and provide compliance coverage for FAB’s asset management business. The role also includes responsibilities related to anti-money laundering (AML).

Key Accountabilities:

  • Perform the role of SCA Accredited Compliance Officer for FAB’s Asset Management business.
  • Provide asset management compliance coverage, ensuring that compliance frameworks are effectively implemented and maintained.
  • Oversee compliance with SCA regulations to ensure that all activities within FAB Asset Management adhere to the required standards.
  • Manage AML and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) frameworks to protect FAB Asset Management’s reputation and integrity.
  • Oversee regulatory change management to ensure the business remains compliant with evolving regulations.
  • Design and deliver training for business and functional teams.
  • Liaise with SCA regulators and ensure timely and accurate submission of all required reports and documentation.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on SCA regulatory matters.
  • Implement and oversee compliance monitoring programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Support the asset management business in providing compliance assessment and advice in relation to new products.
  • Support the fund approval process to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to respond appropriately to escalated compliance matters.
  • Monitor and disseminate compliance regulations and policy change.
  • Manage direct reporting lines to the board and administrative reporting lines to the CEO.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Fulfil of the requirements to be an SCA Accredited Compliance Officer, including academic qualifications, professional certificates and SCA examinations.
  • Strong knowledge of asset management compliance, including relevant laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Prior experience as an MLRO and carrying out MLRO responsibilities. Good understanding of AML risk, including higher-risk geographies, industries, and products.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • In view of regulatory interaction and SCA circulars, proficiency in Arabic is an asset.
