Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled German Language Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching German to students of varying proficiency levels from beginners to advanced learners while creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver effective German language lessons covering speaking, listening, reading and writing.
• Teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and cultural aspects of German.
• Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes and exams and provide constructive feedback.
• Develop and adapt lesson materials to suit different learning styles and levels.
• Prepare students for German proficiency exams (e.g. Goethe-Institut TestDaF, TELC, DSH) if applicable.
• Encourage student participation through interactive and communicative teaching methods.
• Maintain student attendance and performance records.
• Stay updated on best practices, teaching methodologies and new resources for language instruction.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and motivating classroom environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in German, Linguistics, Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Teaching certification (e.g. DaF/DaZ, Goethe-Institut Trainer certification or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Proven experience teaching German as a foreign language (minimum 2 years preferred).
• Excellent command of German (native or near-native proficiency) and strong English communication skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching style to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and classroom management skills.
