Overview

The Assistant Manager – Butler Service is responsible for assisting in the overall management and operation of the Butler Service department. This role ensures the highest level of personalized service to guests, maintaining exceptional standards of luxury and discretion. The Assistant Manager acts as a key support to the Butler Service Manager by supervising daily operations, training team members, and enhancing guest experiences in line with the property’s service culture.

Responsibilities
  • Guest Service & Experience
    • Ensure all guests receive personalized, anticipatory, and discreet service throughout their stay.
    • Handle VIP, long-stay, and repeat guests, ensuring all preferences and special requests are met.
    • Resolve guest concerns promptly and effectively, maintaining high guest satisfaction scores.
    • Coordinate with other departments (Housekeeping, F&B, Concierge, Front Office) to deliver seamless service.
  • Operations Management
    • Assist in managing day-to-day Butler operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
    • Supervise butlers on duty, ensuring grooming, service etiquette, and SOP compliance.
    • Prepare daily guest reports, arrival/departure lists, and special request summaries.
    • Ensure villas/suites are set up according to guest preferences before arrival.
  • Team Leadership & Training
    • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new butler colleagues.
    • Conduct regular briefings and refresher trainings to maintain service standards.
    • Mentor and motivate the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
    • Assist in scheduling, duty rosters, and performance evaluations.
  • Administration & Standards
    • Maintain accurate records of guest profiles and preferences.
    • Assist with budget preparation and cost control for the department.
    • Uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards across Butler operations.
    • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and brand service standards.
Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in luxury hospitality, with at least 2 years in Butler/Guest Service leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of luxury service standards and VIP protocol.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages preferred).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a guest-centric mindset.
  • Leadership ability with proven experience in team supervision and training.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a remote island environment.
  • Island resort setting – requires adaptability to remote living and tropical climate.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
