A luxury hotel in Dubai seeks a Service Supervisor to lead the service staff team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a multicultural, 5-star environment and be capable of managing high volumes of luxury guests. JOB SUMMARY
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervise the service staff team.
Ensure the standards are applied with 100% guest satisfaction.
Be punctual, greet colleagues, and report to the supervisor upon arrival.
Arrive well groomed, prepared, and display enthusiasm.
Be prepared for a long day, contribute actively, and utilize time effectively.
Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.
Contribute to departmental standards and best practices.
Offer guests an enjoyable, expertly served beverage/dining experience for all events.
Anticipate and service guests' requirements before requests are made.
Serve and clear food and beverage items professionally and unobtrusively.
Be familiar with beverage service, including stemware and garnishes.
Complete opening and closing side work and ensure all tables are set according to standards.
Utilize the hotel's computer system for sales, printing checks, and closing procedures.
Carry trays, bus, and reset tables with linen, china, glass, and silverware.
Change ashtrays, serve cigarettes, crumb tables, and offer additional beverages and cigars.
Ascertain guest satisfaction and handle any issues, informing a manager as needed.
Service all needs for private dining rooms or functions.
Report accidents or guest complaints immediately to a manager.
Recognize and address potential disruptive guests.
Respond properly to hotel emergencies or safety situations.
Move tables and chairs as needed.
Break down buffets, displays, or side stations when required.
Clean service areas when needed.
Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management.
Retrieve and stock linen, china, silver, glassware, and food and beverage items.
Provide professional and unobtrusive service.
Serve dishes and explain contents and preparation to guests.
Provide water, bread, and butter service throughout meals.
Offer coffee or tea and serve requested items according to standards.
Report for duty 5 minutes early, clean, tidy, and in correct uniform.
Carry and break down trays safely and properly.
Ensure setup and mise en place are ready for the next day's events.
Keep all areas, stores, and back areas clean and tidy.
Clear and reset tables for specific group sizes.
Assist promptly with any mishaps in the restaurant.
Sweep or vacuum floors before shifts if needed.
Attend training sessions and follow hotel policies and rules.
Handle cash and credit card procedures per accounting guidelines.
Identify potential problems early and seek assistance proactively.
Provide lateral service within the hotel as needed.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Basic hotel school diploma.
Minimum 2 years experience in a multicultural / 5-star hotel environment.
Multiskilled.
Experience in food and beverage or event management.
Speed and accuracy, capable of managing last-minute activities.
Ability to handle high volumes of luxury guests daily.
Ability to work under pressure in a customer service environment.
Flexible with the ability to work long hours.
Creative and positive mindset.
Experience working in different cultural environments.
