Overview

The iconic Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) is a historic gem and the only floating hotel in Dubai. The hotel features 447 distinctive rooms. A one-of-a-kind entertainment destination, rich in history where the past is relived in the luxury of today. Guest experience is a true British heritage and history with a visit to one of the world's most celebrated ocean liners, now permanently docked in the new marina at Dubai's Port Rashid in the UAE.

What you will be doing

As our Finishing Carpenter, you will bring craftsmanship and attention to detail to every project, ensuring that our iconic ship-hotel maintains the highest standards of quality, safety, and elegance. From repairing and maintaining wooden fittings to creating custom finishes, your work will directly contribute to the unique guest experience aboard the QE2.

Responsibilities

• Perform finishing carpentry works including installation, repair, and maintenance of wooden structures, furniture, doors, partitions, and fixtures etc.
• Carry out painting, polishing, varnishing, and surface treatments.
• Carry out gypsum works such as ceiling repairs, partition installation, and decorative finishing.
• Work closely with the Engineering team to support renovation and repair projects across the property.
• Inspect and troubleshoot carpentry issues promptly, maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Finishing Carpenter, preferably in hospitality, cruise, or high end residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, finishing materials, and joinery.
• Hands-on approach, with excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Flexibility to work on shifts and adapt to operational needs.
