Job summary

A construction firm is seeking a Cost Estimation Lead to oversee the preparation of accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in estimation and tendering, with strong familiarity with the UAE market and proficiency in relevant software like Candy CCS. Responsibilities include preparing detailed cost estimates, obtaining and analyzing quotations, and identifying potential risks in projects. This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, and a valid UAE driving license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8–10 years in estimation/tendering for civil construction projects in the UAE/GCC.
• Proficiency in estimation software such as Candy CCS or Primavera.
• Strong knowledge of UAE market rates and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for various civil works including earthworks and infrastructure.
• Analyze quotations from suppliers and ensure accurate pricing strategies.
• Identify and propose strategies for risk mitigation.

To lead and manage the preparation of accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects, ensuring competitive and profitable bids while complying with company standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Tendering & Estimation:

  • Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil works, including earthworks, concrete, steel, finishing, and infrastructure.
  • Analyze and interpret technical documents, BOQs, and contractual conditions.

• Cost Analysis & Pricing:

  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare rate analysis for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Ensure accurate pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and company objectives.

• Risk Assessment & Value Engineering:

  • Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Suggest cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality or compliance.

• Coordination & Communication:

  • Liaise with project managers, procurement, and design teams for technical and commercial clarifications.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.

• Documentation & Reporting:

  • Prepare tender submission documents, including technical and commercial proposals.
  • Maintain updated cost databases and historical records for future reference.
