Job Overview

Engineer – Nuclear Safety / Graduate PSA to join our market leading team in the Middle East. This role will be based in Abu Dhabi and you will be part of a Nuclear Safety team supporting development, review, and application of Probabilistic Safety Assessments (PSA) / Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) and other nuclear safety analyses for operating and new nuclear power plants, including advanced and small modular reactor technologies. The role provides hands-on experience in nuclear risk modelling, safety case development, and regulatory compliance under the supervision of senior engineers.

Role Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of Level 1 and Level 2 PSA models for internal and external events (e.g., fire, flood, seismic)
  • Support deterministic and probabilistic safety evaluations to demonstrate compliance with local and international nuclear safety standards (e.g., FANR, IAEA, NRC)
  • Contribute to hazard identification (HAZID) and risk-informed decision-making processes for nuclear facilities
  • Participate in data collection and uncertainty analysis to improve model accuracy and plant reliability insights
  • Assist in the development of event trees, fault trees, and human reliability analyses (HRA) using specialized software tools (e.g., CAFTA, RiskSpectrum, SAPHIRE)
  • Prepare technical documentation and safety reports for internal review and regulatory submission
  • Participate in training programs and continuous learning on nuclear safety principles, reactor technologies, and Middle Eastern nuclear regulatory frameworks
Role requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical (or related engineer / science discipline)
  • 0–2 years of experience in the nuclear, energy, or process safety field
  • Strong technical foundation in engineering principles, with interest in nuclear safety and risk assessment
  • Familiarity with PSA/PRA methodologies, fault tree and event tree logic, and safety analysis tools (coursework or internships beneficial)
  • Knowledge of IAEA safety standards and international best practices is an advantage
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills
  • Proficient in English (verbal and written); Arabic language skills are an asset.
  • Eligible to work in the Middle East region (UAE, KSA, or other GCC countries).
  • Ability to hold and maintain US DoE Security Clearance
