Hamilton Aquatics Swimming and Training is seeking a dedicated Development Coachto join our dynamic coaching team in Dubai. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping young swimmers into competitive athletes while fostering a love for the sport. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering and planning high-quality coaching sessions for our Development Squads, nurturing talent, and promoting the values that define our success.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching and Development:

  • Deliver and plan sessions for Foundation, Development, and Potential Squads, as directed by the Head of Development.
  • Deliver technique-focused, skill-enhancing sessions aligned with the Hamilton Aquatics philosophy.
  • Track swimmer attendance, set individual targets, and ensure training evolves to meet their progress.
  • Promote participation in competitions, advise on event selection, and attend competitions locally and overseas as needed.
  • Recruit swimmers into the squads and talent-identify athletes from our Learn to Swim program to ensure full squads and a high-quality pipeline.

Communication and Teamwork:

  • Maintain proactive communication with swimmers, parents, and staff.
  • Handle inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating where necessary.
  • Report to the Head of Development daily, attend weekly coach meetings, and lead area meetings with documentation.

Quality Assurance and Safety:

  • Adhere to all child protection policies, Hamilton Aquatics' code of conduct, and health and safety protocols.
  • Manage site responsibilities, including pool safety checks and first aid as necessary.

Administration Duties:

  • Complete necessary administration tasks, including booking and competition entries.
  • Ensure swimmer attendance and progression records are up to date.
  • Support the Head of Development with new recruit inductions.

Community Engagement:

  • Represent Hamilton Aquatics professionally at competitions, galas, and events.
  • Organise and deliver clinics with local schools to build relationships and raise swimming levels.
  • Lead school training sessions and assist schools in inter-school competitions.

Desired qualifications and experience

  • Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 2 Coaching Award/UKCC Level 2 Coaching in Aquatics (or equivalent).
  • Lifeguard Qualification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Experience in coaching young swimmers, particularly at the Learn to Train and Train to Train stages.
  • Proven track record in developing age-group swimmers and ensuring smooth squad transitions.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of swim stroke mechanics and training methodologies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
