Overview

Are you passionate about building seamless bridges between design and development? We are seeking a Design Technologist to join our client’s design systems team in the banking sector. In this role, you’ll act as a workflow integrator—translating design concepts into production‑ready code and ensuring design consistency across digital products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with designers to translate high‑fidelity UI designs into interactive, coded UI components.
  • Build and maintain design‑system components (React, Vue, Angular) ensuring design consistency across applications.
  • Develop accessible, performant, and responsive interfaces aligned with WCAG standards and internationalisation.
  • Document design patterns, style guides, and code libraries.
  • Create and maintain component documentation in Storybook.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies across squads/tribes, working closely with front‑end engineers to define and integrate design tokens and APIs.
Technical Skills
  • Strong foundation in HTML5, CSS3/SASS, JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Experience with at least one modern UI framework (React, Vue, or Angular).
  • Proficiency with tooling: Storybook, Styleguidist, Figma‑to‑code plugins, Babel, Webpack.
  • Knowledge of component architecture: theming, tokens, props API.
  • Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0/2.1), responsive design, mobile‑first.
  • Version control (Git/GitHub).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.
Design & UX Skills
  • Proficient in Figma.
  • Strong sense of interaction, visual, and motion design.
  • Understanding of UX fundamentals: user flows, accessibility, inclusive design.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9241 usability standards is a plus.
Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication and cross‑functional teamwork abilities.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • Analytical and data‑driven approach to design iterations.
  • Self‑starter, proactive in system improvements.
