We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our innovative automotive engineering. This role you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality automotive parts and accessories with a strong focus on performance, manufacturability, and aesthetics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to bring new product ideas from concept to production while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Development
- Lead the full lifecycle design and development of automotive components ensuring they meet functional, aesthetic, and performance standards.
- Generate design concepts, detailed drawings and engineering documentation using advanced CAD tools.
- Enhance and redesign existing products to improve durability, functionality, cost-efficiency and visual appeal.
Engineering Analysis & Feasibility
- Conduct engineering analyses including feasibility studies, design reviews, risk assessments and cost evaluations.
- Ensure all designs align with manufacturability requirements, production timelines and cost targets.
- Identify optimization opportunities based on test results, user feedback and production constraints.
Material Selection & Integration
- Work with internal teams to select appropriate materials that meet performance and durability requirements.
- Explore and integrate sustainable or innovative materials aligned with industry advancements.
- Ensure compatibility of materials with manufacturing processes and environmental conditions.
Prototyping Validation & Testing
- Develop prototypes of engineered components and oversee testing procedures to ensure performance, structural integrity and safety.
- Analyze test data and implement necessary design revisions or improvements.
- Prepare detailed engineering test reports and documentation.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all designs meet automotive industry standards, regulatory requirements and internal quality guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with QA/QC and Compliance teams to maintain design integrity and documentation accuracy.
- Support audits, certification processes and design validation requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with suppliers, technical partners and third-party vendors to ensure successful component development.
- Participate in supplier meetings to discuss design feasibility, manufacturing challenges and production solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as R&D, procurement and production to ensure smooth project execution.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process enhancement within the engineering function.
- Apply lessons learned to improve future project efficiency, quality and delivery timelines.
- Stay current with automotive technologies, materials and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Required).
- 35 years of experience in automotive product engineering.
- Hands‑on experience working with OEM standards and requirements (Required).
- Strong background in designing automotive components or accessories.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools: Fusion 360, Creo, PTC.
- Optional: NX, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in engineering analysis software and tools used for feasibility testing and evaluation.
- Experience in planning, executing and monitoring engineering projects.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple design tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a multi‑disciplinary environment.
