A culinary establishment seeks a motivated Demi Chef de Partie to join their kitchen team. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Demi Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. The role is suitable for a culinary professional who is passionate about food takes pride in consistent high standards and enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This position is open to applicants from all backgrounds and is gender neutral.
Prepare cook and present dishes to the required standards supporting the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen staff.
Assist with daily mise en place portioning preparation and basic cooking tasks across allocated sections.
Maintain consistent food quality and presentation in line with menu specifications and portion control requirements.
Follow recipes and plating guidelines while contributing ideas for specials and menu improvements when requested.
Ensure compliance with food safety hygiene and allergen procedures including accurate labelling and storage of ingredients.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any faults or maintenance needs to supervisors.
Support stock control processes including rotation wastage recording and assisting with deliveries and stores management.
Work collaboratively with front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service during busy periods including weekends and bank holidays.
Previous experience working in a professional kitchen with a basic understanding of cookery techniques and kitchen operations.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Good communication skills and a positive cooperative attitude within a team environment.
Awareness of food safety hygiene and allergen management; willingness to follow and maintain relevant procedures.
Physically capable of standing for long periods performing repetitive tasks and handling moderate lifting.
Basic IT skills for stock records and communication; ability to follow written recipes and standard operating procedures.
Willingness to undertake relevant checks training and certifications (for example food hygiene certificate) as required.
Professional culinary qualifications (NVQ City & Guilds or equivalent) or relevant apprenticeship experience are advantageous.
Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certificate desirable or willingness to obtain on appointment.
Any additional training in allergen awareness manual handling or HACCP is beneficial.
Full-time and part-time opportunities available; shift patterns include early mornings evenings weekends and bank holidays as required by service.
