A healthcare provider in the UAE is seeking a Consultant Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon to provide surgical and non-surgical care for children with musculoskeletal conditions. The ideal candidate should be Tier-1, Western-trained with significant experience in complex pediatric cases. Responsibilities include managing a range of pediatric orthopaedic conditions, guiding treatment strategies, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. The role demands excellent communication and a commitment to evidence-based practices, ensuring high standards of care in alignment with UAE regulations.
The Consultant Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon provides advanced surgical and non-surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents with congenital, developmental, and traumatic musculoskeletal conditions. The role requires a Tier-1, Western-trained consultant with extensive experience in complex pediatric orthopaedic procedures within a tertiary care setting.
One of the following (or equivalent):
American Board Certification (Orthopaedic Surgery + Pediatric Orthopaedics fellowship)
Canadian RCPSC Fellowship
Irish CSCST
Australian FRACS (Orthopaedic Surgery – Pediatric)
Minimum 3–5 years post-consultant experience in pediatric orthopaedic surgery.
Demonstrated case volume in complex deformity correction and trauma.
Eligible for DOH or DHA Consultant License.
DataFlow verification and DOH/DHA exam or exemption according to Tier-1 status.
Manage and surgically treat the full spectrum of pediatric orthopaedic conditions, including:
Congenital limb and foot deformities
Scoliosis and spine deformity (if trained)
Pediatric fractures and trauma
Perform corrective surgery, reconstructive procedures, and guided growth techniques.
Conduct outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and perioperative management.
Collaborate closely with pediatricians, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and radiology teams.
Maintain accurate EMR documentation and adhere to UAE clinical standards.
Expertise in congenital deformity correction
Strong surgical judgment and perioperative management
Excellent communication with children and families
Effective teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment
Commitment to evidence-based pediatric orthopaedic practice
Scheduled operating lists
Pediatric orthopaedic clinics and inpatient rounds
Participation in on-call rota for trauma and emergency cases
