A Commis 1 at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre is responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest experience.

What will I be doing?

As a Commis 1 at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre you will be assisting in the daily operations, including the preparation of mise en place and production. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Knowledge of the individual menu items including basic ingredients, methods of preparation, and presentation style.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.
• Gain basic knowledge of all outlets in hotel.
• Responsible for mise en place.
• Taste and examine food prepared for freshness and required quality.
• Set up section as required by Chef De Partie and Executive Chef.
• Be responsible for minimizing food wastage.
• Attend and comprehend all information discussed at the briefing sessions.
• Be pro-actively involved in the hotel’s operation keeping up-to-date with events within the hotel.
