What will I be doing

As a Commis 1 at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre you will be assisting in the daily operations including the preparation of mis-en-place and production. Specifically you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Knowledge of the individual menu items including basic ingredients, methods of preparation and presentation style.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.
• Gain basic knowledge of all outlets in hotel.
• Responsible for mise en place.
• Taste and examine food prepared for freshness and required quality.
• Set up section as required by Chef De Partie and Executive Chef.
• Be responsible for minimizing food wastage.
• Attend and comprehend all information discussed at the briefing sessions.
• Be pro-actively involved in the hotels operation keeping up-to-date with events within the hotel.
