Job summary

A leading construction firm is seeking a Civil Quantity Surveyor responsible for managing all civil-related quantities and contractual controls for an ADNOC construction project. The ideal candidate will have 7–12 years of experience in civil QS roles, with strong knowledge of EPC contracts and civil construction works. Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software is essential. This role involves site measurements, cost control, and compliance with ADNOC's standards.

Qualifications

  • 7–12 years of experience in civil QS roles with strong exposure to Oil & Gas construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction works and contractual procedures.
  • Experience working on ADNOC projects.
  • CICPA security pass or ability to obtain one is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed quantity take-offs, BOQ validation, and quantity verifications for civil works.
  • Monitor and control project quantities for alignment with ADNOC-approved drawings.
  • Prepare and review interim payment applications and cost reports as per ADNOC formats.

Job description

The Civil Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all civil-related quantities, measurements, valuations, and contractual/commercial controls for a major ADNOC construction project. The role ensures compliance with ADNOC contractual procedures, cost controls, and commercial governance. The candidate must demonstrate solid experience with EPC contracts, site measurements, and ADNOC submission standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed quantity take-offs, BOQ validation, and quantity verifications for all civil works (earthworks, concrete, structures, foundations, roads, buildings, etc.).
  • Monitor, track, and control project quantities to ensure alignment with ADNOC-approved IFC drawings and project specifications.
  • Prepare and review interim payment applications, measurement sheets, and cost reports as per ADNOC formats.
  • Assist in developing cost forecasts, budget updates, and cost-value reconciliation reports.
  • Support the Commercial/Contracts team in reviewing contract terms, variations, and commercial correspondence.
  • Prepare and defend variation/VO submissions, including justifications, build-ups, and measurement records in line with ADNOC procedures.
  • Assist in preparation of claims, EOT cost impacts, re-measurement, and contractual notifications.
  • Ensure proper documentation for audit compliance and client verification.
  • Conduct regular site visits for physical measurements, progress verification, and cross-checking subcontractor works.
  • Coordinate with construction teams, engineering, procurement, and subcontractors to validate work progress and cost impacts.
  • Evaluate and certify subcontractor interim payments and variation claims.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly commercial/quantity reports as required by ADNOC.
  • Highlight cost deviations, quantity overruns, and commercial risks to the management team.
  • Maintain accurate logs of variations, claims, RFIs, and material quantity records.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
  • 7–12 years of experience in civil QS roles with strong exposure to Oil & Gas construction projects.
  • Experience working on ADNOC projects (ADNOC approval preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction works: concrete, structural, earthworks, industrial infrastructure, roads, and utilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, QS software, and strong documentation skills.
  • Sound understanding of contractual procedures, cost control, and variation management in EPC environments.
  • Previous or valid ADNOC Approval as QS / Civil QS (PREFERRED).
  • CICPA security pass or ability to obtain one (PREFERRED).
  • Experience in FIDIC-based or ADNOC-based contracts (PREFERRED).
  • Strong understanding of re-measurement contracts and unit-rate analysis (PREFERRED).
