Job description

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with proven expertise in conducting structural adequacy checks for existing piperacks in onshore oil and gas facilities. The role will focus on assessing the structural capacity, integrity and compliance of existing piperacks to accommodate modifications, additional loads or changes in operating conditions during the FEED, Detailed Engineering and Detailed Design phases.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Carry out structural adequacy checks and capacity assessments for existing piperacks in line with project specifications, international codes and client requirements.
  • Perform detailed structural analysis and load assessments using industry‑standard engineering software.
  • Review as‑built drawings, historical design data and inspection reports to determine the current condition and design margins.
  • Identify reinforcement or modification requirements to meet new project needs.
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables including adequacy reports, design calculations, reinforcement drawings and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with piping, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (AISC, API, ASCE, BS, ISO) and client‑specific specifications.
  • Participate in design review meetings, site surveys and constructability assessments.
  • Provide technical support during construction and modification works for existing piperacks.
  • Adhere to project schedules, budgets and quality control procedures.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 8+ years of civil/structural engineering experience in onshore oil and gas projects.
  • Proven track record in structural adequacy checks and assessment of existing piperacks.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g. SAP2000, ETABS) and CAD tools.
  • Experience in FEED, Detailed Engineering and Detailed Design stages.
  • Familiarity with ADNOC standards is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills in a multidisciplinary project environment.
  • ADNOC project experience will be highly regarded.
