Job description

We are seeking a highly knowledgeable a Chief Investment Officer (CIO) (Hindi Speaker) to join a prestigious private Family Office in Dubai. The CIO will be responsible for owning and executing the overall investment strategy, capital allocation, and risk governance of the Family Office. The role carries full accountability for investment performance across all asset classes, whether capital is deployed directly or through external advisors. The CIO acts as the single point of responsibility for investment outcomes, governance standards, and disciplined decision‑making.

Responsibilities
  • Define and implement a long-term investment philosophy aligned with the family’s objectives, liquidity requirements, and risk appetite.
  • Drive strategic and tactical asset allocation across public markets, private equity, private credit, real assets, alternatives, and structured strategies.
  • Establish return targets, drawdown limits, capital preservation thresholds, and portfolio construction guidelines.
  • Oversee performance across all portfolios, structures, and investment entities.
  • Monitor portfolio attribution, concentration risks, liquidity exposure, and correlations.
  • Enforce disciplined portfolio rebalancing, exits, and capital recycling decisions.
Advisor Oversight & Investment Governance (Critical)
  • Define mandates, benchmarks, risk limits, fee structures, and reporting standards for all external advisors and managers.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of advisor performance, positioning, and governance practices.
  • Challenge assumptions, recommendations, and risk exposures to ensure independent and objective decision‑making.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for all advisor‑managed capital.
  • Escalate underperformance, risk breaches, or governance concerns to the Investment Committee and Chairman, including recommendations for mandate revision or termination.
Deal Evaluation & Investment Committee Interface
  • Evaluate, approve, and prioritize direct investments and advisor‑sourced opportunities.
  • Ensure all investments are supported by a clear investment thesis, downside protection, risk mitigation, and defined exit strategy.
  • Prepare and present concise, decision‑oriented Investment Committee materials and recommendations.
  • Establish and enforce comprehensive risk frameworks covering market, credit, liquidity, operational, and counterparty risks.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, investment structures, and documentation standards across jurisdictions.
Reporting & Transparency
  • Deliver consolidated reporting on portfolio performance, risk exposure, and capital allocation to the family and Investment Committee.
  • Translate complex investment data into clear, actionable insights to support informed decision‑making.
Authority & Accountability
  • Final investment authority, subject to Investment Committee approval and Chairman veto.
  • Full accountability for investment performance, risk management, and governance outcomes; use of external advisors does not dilute responsibility.
Requirements
  • 12–20+ years of investment experience across public and private markets.
  • Strong strategic judgment with a disciplined, downside‑focused, long‑term investment mindset.
  • Proven experience working with principals, family offices, or ultra‑high‑net‑worth stakeholders.
  • High integrity, discretion, and ability to operate in a confidential, trust‑driven environment.
  • Fluent Hindi speaker with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
