The Pool Bar Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso-based beverages, and a variety of cold and hot drinks at the pool bar. The role involves delivering excellent guest service, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and contributing to a relaxed and enjoyable poolside atmosphere. The barista also assists with serving light snacks, supporting the beverage team, and ensuring guest satisfaction in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Requirements
Beverage Preparation and Service:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos, iced coffees, and specialty beverages.
- Operate professional espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment with proper technique.
- Serve cold drinks, smoothies, juices, mocktails, and bottled beverages as per menu and guest preference.
- Ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and taste in every drink served.
- Provide recommendations and upsell specialty beverages or promotions to guests.
Guest Interaction and Service:
- Greet guests courteously, take drink and snack orders, and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain a friendly, approachable, and professional attitude at all times.
- Handle guest requests, preferences, and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Ensure all guest areas at the pool bar are tidy, welcoming, and service-ready.
Hygiene and Cleanliness:
- Keep the barista station and pool bar clean, sanitized, and organized at all times.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards for beverage handling and preparation.
- Ensure utensils, machines, and tools are cleaned and stored correctly after each shift.
- Maintain a neat personal appearance, in line with hotel grooming standards.
Stock and Inventory:
- Monitor stock levels of coffee, milk, syrups, disposables, and other bar items.
- Assist in receiving and organizing beverage supplies and deliveries.
- Inform the supervisor of low stock or equipment maintenance needs.
- Ensure correct storage and rotation of ingredients to avoid waste.
Pool Area Support:
- Support the poolside service team during busy periods by assisting with tray service or light food handling.
- Clear and reset poolside tables and bar counters when needed.
- Ensure all equipment (blenders, fridges, espresso machines) are in good working condition.
- Assist during pool bar events or themed service days as directed.
