Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Academic Duties

  • Deliver high‑quality lectures, seminars, case‑based learning, and clinical instruction across undergraduate, internship, residency, and postgraduate programs.
  • Provide advanced instruction in Fixed Prosthodontics, Removable Prosthodontics, Implant Prosthodontics, Digital Prosthodontics, and Aesthetic Dentistry.
  • Lead simulation laboratory training and preclinical skill development.
  • Adopt evidence‑based pedagogy, integrating digital workflows, contemporary technological innovations, and clinical best practice.
  • Contribute to curriculum design, program review, CLO–PLO mapping, accreditation documentation, and continuous quality improvement (CQI).
  • Develop assessment blueprints, OSCE stations, rubrics, and competency‑based evaluation aligned with international dental education standards.

2. Clinical Responsibilities

  • Supervise comprehensive prosthodontic care, including crowns, bridges, partial crowns, veneers, removable dentures (complete and partial), implant‑supported restorations, occlusion management, and complex full‑mouth rehabilitation.
  • Provide consultation and mentorship in advanced treatment planning, digital workflows, and interdisciplinary patient management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control standards, patient safety protocols, risk‑management practices, and institutional clinical governance policies.
  • Model clinical excellence, ethical conduct, and professionalism for learners and trainees across all levels of the academic and clinical programs.

3. Research & Scholarly Activity

  • Maintain an active research agenda with measurable outputs including publications, presentations, grants, and community‑engaged research.
  • Supervise MClinDent, and/or DClinDent research theses, ensuring methodological rigor and ethical compliance.
  • Mentor postgraduate students in critical appraisal, study design, scientific writing, and dissemination of research.
  • Seek external funding and participate in intra‑ and inter‑institutional collaborative research networks.
  • Align research activities with Ajman University strategic plan, UAE national health priorities, and global prosthodontic innovations.

4. Administrative Duties

  • Participate in department, college, and university committees, including accreditation, curriculum, and research committees.
  • Contribute to Ajman University and College of Dentistry‑related initiatives, community outreach, and continuing professional development programs.
  • Support strategic planning, quality assurance, and alignment with institutional and national accreditation standards.
  • Engage and support succession planning within the unit.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • DDS or BDS degree and MS or postgraduate specialty qualification in Prosthodontics.
  • PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Prosthodontics.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Clinical excellence and knowledge of prosthodontics and digital dentistry.
  • Demonstrated commitment to scholarly productivity, including peer‑reviewed publications, conference presentations, and the pursuit of competitive research grants.
